Monique M.B. Breteler is the Director of Population Health Sciences at the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE) and a Professor at the University of Bonn. Her research focuses on understanding and identifying ways to predict age-associated diseases, particularly neurodegenerative disorders to ultimately help prevent such diseases. She has extensive experience in initiating and leading large population cohort studies, most recently the Rhineland Study in Bonn. She is a member of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences and the German National Academy of Science Leopoldina.
